Clench the receiver, breathing deeper, into the phone.
Anticipating, what I will say, when you're home.
Feels like forever, since I dialed your number, into the phone.
Anticipating, what I will say when we're alone.

Usually that's not me.
Nothing seems to get to me but your voice.

An hour later, I dialed your number, thought I'd try again.
Anticipation, of wanting to know when this will end.
The constant pounding, something is sounding, inside of me.
This situation, that I've put myself in is killing me.
This nervousness will pass.
