Hi everyone! Let me interrupt

Hi everyone! Let me interrupt storytelling Stimp for a minute and let you know that the January and February scheduled dates are up now! Also, have you checked out the video for Sally Hayes with RealPlayer? We're all about the multimedia at supergush.com. Happy holidays from the webmaster!

We've been pretty busy getting

We've been pretty busy getting ready to take the show on the road to other cities. It's finally starting to come together and I think over the next few months you will be able to find us in your own hometown.

Terry and Joe have been putting a lot of the live material on napster lately, search for supergush and I think you'll be surprised what turns up.

RAAAAAND asked about the story behind "swing" in the guestbook so I will bite and elaborate a bit. I am not sure how much sense this will make typing out the story behind the song, but then again, sometimes it sounds jumbled when I talk about them at the shows too.

I remember Rick telling me about a friend who had heard one of the stories behind one of our songs at the cd release party back in April and it kind of ruined it for her. I guess that's what draws us to lyrics and music, when we can personalize them and relate. Anyway here's a stab at "swing" 3 years later, hope your own interpretations live on.

My brother Matt and I were on a trip to San Francisco with our friend (let's call him Mark to protect his identity) back in the summer of '97 to visit old friends and family from when I lived in Lake Tahoe. We were out at a club called Cafe Dunord on Market St. where this band : Lavay Smith and the Red Hot Skillett Lickers was playing. It was one of those evenings where everything is surreal and in slow motion. We had just finished dinner when the band came on. Picture a smokey nightclub with dimly lit tables and every other person in the room is nursing a martini (probably because no one really likes the taste but they're hip to sip in a club such as this). The band kicks in and has a very old Gene Krupa big band feel, and everyone in the joint is loving it. We just happen to be sitting right in the front and we're totally soaking in the experience. With very little room in front of the stage a couple in their mid-20's clears a spot and begins to swing dance. As the night progresses, the club keeps filling in packing people in closer and closer to the stage. There is literally no room left in the club to move. The guy and girl keep on swinging without a care in the world enjoying every song more than the prevoius one. It was great to see someone this talented enjoying what they do best. The guy is throwing the woman all over the place and you could tell they have danced together before. In fact, my uncle talked with them at the end of the night and come to find out they had been together for years. There was no other place that they wanted to be that night and you could tell. Everyone in the club seemed to feed off of the 2 dancing in front of the band and was enjoying what they were doing. It felt like a celebration of life...hence the first line in the song.

Later that night I couldn't sleep back at my aunt and uncle's house and I began to write in my journal as I always do when I cannot sleep. "Swing" came out line after line as I recalled the evening and how much fun it was to be on vacation with no worries or concerns. It was one of those songs that wrote itself and felt as though there was little effort put into it. Sometimes it happens that way.

It was our first time

It was our first time at Tavern on the Flats in Seneca Falls and we met a lot of cool people. It was unusually warm for a gig around Christmas! I thought I would throw that in there. We are at the Haunt this weekend coming up and could use all of the support from friends and fans alike. If you feel like a road trip...well I don't think that I have to finish that statement. Hope to see you at this weekends gig or any others coming up soon..please check the schedule for changes and or updates.

Hello again. We were up

Hello again. We were up at the Woodshed and in Oneida this weekend......I don't think that it could possibly get any colder! We all had a good time. Friday night we had to clean up our cords from the beer spilled and then on Saturday night we got to clean our plates up at the buffet table. Remember to write in to the journal, it gets lonely here!

I always knew the drive

I always knew the drive up to Oswego felt longer than it really is. Last night I got the full experience. When we got to the show around 8pm expecting to be set up and playing by 10 I realized that I did not have my guitar and had to drive back to Syracuse to get it. Unfortunately my guitar and I have been fighting alot and he evidently snuck out of the van and back into my house when we left for the show. I found him hiding in the corner hoping that I would not see him. Don't worry, we talked it out and everything's fine.
By 11:30 The Woodshed was packed from wall to wall and he was happy he made the trip up. I'm glad he came.
