Saturday night we began shooting Saturday night we began shooting the latest video by director AJ Schultz who worked with us on Sally Hayes. AJ is producing a video for us for one of the new songs, "stay". Everything went according to plan and he got all of the shots that he needed from the shoot. Hopefully we will have some of the story boards up on the page soon so you can check them out. We will be continuing to shoot for the viedo on Saturday, November 17th at Armory High in Syracuse if you want to be in th video. An added plus: our favorite local band The Ribgy's will be on hand as well to tickle the eardrums. See you then.

What was that huge billboard What was that huge billboard that just passed us on the Thruway. It's a bird, it's a plane, no, it's the new supergush trailer! We took the big plunge and bought a trailer last week for the band equiptment. It's HUGE! You can fit three of Joe's bass cabinets in it and still the rest of the bands' stuff. Terry found a company through Rick's work and took care of all of the logistics and then it appeared like a christmas present last week. It was nice loading up after Coleman's Friday and driving home without having to unload the equiptment. When we get the money we are having the supergush logo painted on the side so we can try out for bands on the run on VH1 :-) Also, if you are out and about on the highways...look for our very own webmasters' picture on a billboard heading west on 690 in Syracuse. Kim's picture is on the billboard for the Syracuse Newspapers just after you pass the Teall Ave exit. COOL!

Saturday at Borders was a Saturday at Borders was a nice change of pace for the band. The equiptment that we have to haul around for one of the acoustic shows is a lot more enjoyable to clean up at the end of the show. Only a couple of acoustics, a few microphones, Rick's drums, and Joe's bass. A lot easier to carry than the usual load. It was nice to get out and play a few of the older songs that we do not dust off enough. "Spaces" and "Sleep Well Tonight" felt like new songs after not playing them for awhile. It felt good to do so. The new songs are coming along nicely as well..."Stay" and "Out of Stride" made their acoustic debut and they have both grown on me a lot over the last few months. We came close to finishing another original at practice yesterday."Murder in the Afternoon" is the title and there's a really good vibe to the song despite the morose title. Maybe we'll give it a shot Friday at Coleman's? Terry came up with a really cool guitar lick that we built the framework of the song around and we spent a lot of time yesterday tying it all together. I think it's there. We've been working on a few other ideas over the past few months and I think there's a lot of potential in what we have. Sometimes ideas come and go and you scratch them for one reason or another. I think a lot of the ideas that we have been tackling lately though have a sound potential. Ter usually comes up with great guitar ideas in spurts and it sounds like he's found a few that he's happy with that we can start from to build some new ideas. Joe has also been hard at work with his left field thinking which is always refreshing and a totally new way to look at things. I really like a few of the progressions he's come up with and I think there a few songs in there somewhere. I have been working on a bunch of ideas lately and I really like a few of them. It's funny but it really goes in waves for me when I write. I'll come up with ideas that I like one minute and ditch into the trash the next. A lot of them never leave the basement and that's probably a good thing. Lately however it seems that what I have been working on feels good after letting it sit for awhile. That's a good sign usually for me that a few of these new ideas will stick around. It's exciting when they stick around and I find myself humming them for no apparent reason. That's usually my barometer for if I keep working on an idea or not. If it pops into my head out of nowhere after leaving it for awhile I know to keep working on it...and we have a few.....inspiring.

This Saturday we will be This Saturday we will be playing a show @ the Carousel Center inside of Border's Books and Music 2:00-4:00p.m. The band will be set up right as you walk in the mall entrance (lower level) of Border's. This is a very exciting show for us!!! It's not often that we get to go out and play mostly all of our original material. That's what your going to hear... Supergush, Supergush, Supergush! Maybe we'll throw in a cover or two, but if your a fan of our original music this is a great opportunity to just hang out and enjoy. So anyways come on out and bring a friend, a neighbor, or a friend of a neighbor, or the neighbors friend's friend or even the mailman. See you Saturday... |
